Cointreau Teese
This cocktail recipe is a collaboration between Cointreau and Dita Von Teese.
40ml (1.3 fl oz) Cointreau
20ml (0.6 fl oz) Apple Juice
15ml (0.5 fl oz) Monin Violet Syrup
15ml (0.5 fl oz) Fresh Lemon Juice
Frost ginger around the rim of the glass.
I rarely have all the ingredients for this drink laying around my pantry but, last night I almost did. I used apple cider instead of apple juice and I used my beloved Creme de Violette liquor instead of violet syrup. I must say, this cocktail was simply delicious. I was concerned about it being a little too sweet, but it seems the lemon juice keeps it under control. However, it is still not for the faint of heart. As well as Dita Von Teese being a graceful and captivating dancer she also is apparently a talented mixologist! I’ve now made several different cocktails with my Creme de Violette (including a Violet Margarita) and am looking forward to baking the ultimate chocolate violet cupcakes with it.
